Module one
Fixed assets, book and tax
Everything that happens to an asset from purchase to disposal, on a register that closes and locks each month. Book and tax depreciation run side by side on the same asset, and the entry posts back to QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop.

What it does
Acquisition and construction in progress
Capture assets at cost, or accumulate spend in construction in progress and place in service when the project completes. Depreciation starts from the in-service date, not the invoice date.
Depreciation, book and tax
Straight-line, declining balance at 150 and 200 percent, sum-of-years-digits, and units of production for book. MACRS with mid-quarter convention, Section 179, and bonus depreciation for tax. Separate methods and lives per book, side by side on every asset.
Movement and disposal
Transfers, impairments, and disposals, including partial disposals with gain or loss computed against net book value at the disposal date. A capitalization entry and an impairment entry post to QuickBooks, each with its own reference number, alongside the monthly depreciation entry.
Custom fields and dimensions
Serial number, custodian, and any field you add, plus a breakdown by department, location, or class. Split an asset across dimensions and the split shows on the asset, never flattened away.
Documents on the asset
Attach the invoice, the warranty, or a construction-in-progress receipt to the asset or the project it belongs to.
Reporting
Net book value rollforward, depreciation projections, additions and disposals, and tax reports. Every register, schedule, and report exports to Excel and CSV.
Questions
Can I import the register I already have?
Yes, from a CSV or Excel export of Fixed Asset Manager, a legacy system, or the workbook itself. Cost, dates, methods, and accumulated depreciation come across as they are, staged and previewed row by row.
Which depreciation methods does it support?
Straight-line, declining balance at 150 and 200 percent, sum-of-years-digits, and units of production for book. MACRS with mid-quarter convention, Section 179, and bonus depreciation for tax, with a separate method and life per book on the same asset.
Does the entry post itself?
The monthly depreciation entry, a capitalization entry, and an impairment entry each post to QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, or download as a file if you would rather import it yourself.
