The customer invoice portal
A customer payment portal for QuickBooks, on your own address
Your customers sign in at your own subdomain, read a statement that ties to your aging, raise a dispute if they disagree, and pay through your own Stripe account. The payment is written back to the invoice in QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop, and the payout is reconciled to the bank deposit.
$199 a month for the first entity, $129 for each additional. Unlimited users, both connectors, and the close. Annual billing is two months free.
Every figure, implementation included →Steda Receivables. Buying both products costs less than buying them separately.

The fee, in figures
Where the money actually goes
The fee is the part every buyer asks about first, so it is published rather than quoted. A bank payment through the portal never carries more than $5 of Steda fee, however large the invoice is.
- The money goes to your own Stripe account. Steda never holds it and never touches your bank.
- Stripe bills you its own processing rate directly, at whatever rate you have with Stripe.
- Steda charges a platform fee of 0.5 percent on a card payment and 0.5 percent on a bank payment, capped at $5 per payment.
- The payment is written back against the invoice in QuickBooks, Online or Desktop.
- The Stripe payout is reconciled to the bank deposit, so the month closes without a suspense account.
The payer side
What your customer sees
Your address, not ours
The portal runs on your own subdomain with your own logo. A customer who lands on it sees your company, and Steda is not mentioned to them.
A statement that ties
Every open invoice, every credit and every payment, in the order they happened, from the same aging you work from.
They can disagree
A customer can raise a dispute on an invoice from the portal. It pauses the chase and lands on your escalations queue instead of in somebody’s inbox.
Autopay, if they want it
A customer can authorise autopay, and it runs on your policy. A returned bank payment reverses as its own entry and the invoice goes back on the aging.
The portal is one part of Steda Receivables. The aging, the worklist and the reminder runs that get a customer to the portal in the first place are the other parts, and they are in the same price. There is a page on the portal on its own if you want the detail.
Questions
What exactly does Steda charge on a payment?
Half a percent on a card payment, and half a percent on a bank payment capped at $5. That is Steda’s platform fee, on top of the processing your own Stripe account is billed for separately. It is published on the pricing page and it is one rate for everybody, although a negotiated rate on an order form can override it.
How does that compare with QuickBooks Payments?
The bank payment fee on QuickBooks Payments is one percent, and whether it is capped depends on when the Payments account was opened. Intuit does not publish the rate on its own payments pricing page. Read the rate on your own Intuit account and compare it with the figure above, rather than taking either from a marketing page. The comparison page sets out both, with sources.
Do we need a Stripe account?
Yes. The portal is not a payment processor and Steda is not a merchant of record. Payments run through your own Stripe account and the payout lands in your own bank account.
Does it work with QuickBooks Desktop?
Yes, including Enterprise, through the Web Connector. Invoices come out of the company file and payments are written back to it. QuickBooks Desktop 2023 lost its own in-product card and check processing when Intuit discontinued that version after 31 May 2026, which is why this comes up.
Can we sell the portal on its own?
It is not sold on its own. The portal is inside Steda Receivables at $199 a month for the first entity, along with the aging, the worklist and the reminder runs. It used to be an add-on with a setup fee and it is not any more.
What do customers have to do to sign in?
Nothing to set up. They follow a link from a statement or a reminder and a sign-in link is sent to their own address. There is no password for them to keep and no account for them to create.
