Steda

What Steda ships today

Five registers, all included in one subscription, and a customer invoice portal you can add. A month is closed once rather than five times, and the same connection carries every entry back to QuickBooks. This page is what exists today, not a roadmap.

What period close locks

Each period closes in sequence and locks. The schedule a journal entry came from is the schedule the system shows six months later, because a closed month cannot be edited without a recorded reopen.

A spreadsheet has no equivalent. Any cell can be edited afterward and nothing records it.

Data import for QuickBooks

Eighteen kinds of file, from the chart of accounts to a bill payment, staged and previewed row by row into QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop, with a full audit trail. Every file is staged and reviewed before anything posts, the same as a close.

Staged first

Every file uploads to a staging area first. You see each row, mapped and validated, before anything is saved or posted. Errors surface per row with the reason.

Works with both QuickBooks

Posts to QuickBooks Online through the API and to QuickBooks Desktop, including Enterprise, through the Web Connector. The same file works for either destination.

A log of everything

Every import run is recorded: who ran it, what file, which rows posted, which were skipped and why.

Your register at onboarding

The same tool imports your fixed asset register when you start. A clean export goes live the same day. A messy one is scoped as implementation work and we do it with you.

The import tool is included with every Steda subscription and is not sold separately. It is also how each module starts: the register, the prepaid schedules, the lease and loan registers, and the aging all come in through the same staged upload. If you only need a one-off import, book a walkthrough anyway; the implementation service exists for that kind of conversation.

What Steda is not

Not a general ledger. QuickBooks stays your ledger. Steda keeps the registers beside it and posts the entries back.

Not enterprise asset management. No maintenance schedules, work orders, or barcode scanning.

Not a payments processor. Your customers pay through your own Stripe account, not one Steda controls; Steda records what happened and posts it to QuickBooks, and never holds the money.

Not a tax filing service. The property tax module produces the workpaper. Filing with the county is yours.

Not lessor accounting. Leases and loans covers the business paying rent or financing equipment, not the business leasing it out.

Not an accounting firm dashboard. Multi-entity is built in; firm-level tooling across many clients is not the product today.
