The customer portal
A portal for your customers, paid through your own account
Your customers sign in at your own address, see what they owe, and pay through your own Stripe account. Steda never becomes a payments company: it records what happened and posts it back to QuickBooks.

What it does
Sign in by email, no password
A per-customer link or an emailed six-digit code. Nothing to reset, nothing to remember for a page a customer visits a few times a year.
The statement and every invoice
Balance, aging, and payment history, with any invoice or credit memo downloadable as a PDF in QuickBooks' own layout, and the statement as a PDF or a workbook.
Pay by card or bank, through your account
Checkout runs on your own Stripe account. You are the merchant of record; Steda takes a platform fee and never holds the funds.
Written back to QuickBooks
A payment posts as a received payment applied to the invoices it settled, on QuickBooks Online or Desktop, the same connection the registers use.
Questions and disputes
A customer can raise a question on an invoice. It lands in the collections worklist and pauses the chase until someone resolves it.
Your documents, under your logo
Upload your logo once, and every invoice, statement, and receipt carries it. A W-9, a certificate of insurance, or an ACH letter uploaded once is there for every signed-in customer to download.
How it works
01
A customer signs in
A per-customer link, or an emailed six-digit code. No password to set or reset.
02
They see what they owe
The statement, every invoice, payment history, and any document you have uploaded, under your own logo.
03
They pay, and it posts back
Checkout runs on your Stripe account. The payment is recorded and written back to QuickBooks as a received payment applied to the invoices.
Questions
Does Steda ever hold the money?
No. Payment runs through your own Stripe account, and you are the merchant of record. Steda takes a platform fee on the payment and never holds the funds at any point.
What does the portal cost?
$79 per entity per month, plus a one-time $500 setup. It is the one optional part of Steda; the five registers are all in the base price. Payment runs through your own Stripe account, so processing is billed to you directly, and Steda takes a small platform fee on each payment at the rate in your agreement.
What happens when a customer pays?
Steda records it and writes back a received payment applied to the invoices it settled, on QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop.
